Corn Hill Landing uses a Geothermal Heat Pump for Cooling

The Riverknoll apartment complex currently lacks [had lacked at the time] a central cooling system, and only some of the apartments have air-conditioning capabilities. Since the complex is situated fairly close to the river, this could be a prime starting point to assess the performance of a river-source cooling system. Integrating such a system could provide all of the apartments in the complex with a centralized and reliable source of cooling.

Lipscomb University Nashville Tenn.

Lipscomb University’s Ezell Center is the first university building in Nashville, Tenn., to use geothermal technology for heating and cooling.  Completed in 2006, the 77,000-square foot academic building was planned to address the university’s concerns over rising energy prices and interest in environmental stewardship.  This case study highlights the project details, the system benefits and the energy savings.
